Lucihormetica verrucosa is a beautiful cockroach species that breeds well in captivity. The adult males have the characteristic warty orange glow spots on their pronotum, females don’t. The glow spots are mostly glowing in wild roaches. Most likely It has to do with their diet and others have tried to feed them various food items in order to get that glow in the dark, with no luck however. The nymphs are shiny with orange heads and if they are not eating they remain buried into the substrate.

These can be carton egg cases, cork bark, or hard bark from other trees.
⚠️ Their terrarium needs to be escape-proof, so that the adults cannot squeeze through the lid and escape.

Reproduction rate: prolific; the female giving birth to about twenty dark-coloured, shiny nymphs with orange heads ca. 2 to 3 mm long, that like to burrow into the substrate.
