Armadillidium peraccae is a bulky and broad isopod that somehow looks like the Porcellio isopods externally. Its bluish color and the tubercles remind me of the Hemilepistus reaumuri desert isopod. The species epithet “peraccae” is honoring the Italian herpetologist Mario Giacinto Peracca (1861-1923). Armadillidium peraccae is a social, active and non demanding isopod.
