Edithcolea grandis – with her common name Persian carpet flower – is the queen of all stapeliads. With her massive disc-shaped flowers reaching a diameter of 130 mm and their mesmerizing pattern resembling persian carpets, is a plant-gem rarely seen in cultivation, or offered for sale. Truly a spectacular jewel for the serious succulent collector.

Watering: depends on the temperature. During the spring, summer, and early fall, the plant is watered regularly depending on the temperature, but it prefers slightly less water than other succulents. At the end of November to January, the water is limited about once a week with a little water. During the winter begins the hibernation period for the Apteranthes burchardii. This period the watering stops for 8 weeks. Starting the spring again, repeating the same watering schedule.
Fertilizing: each month from May to July with half the dose of a fertilizer for cacti & succulents.
