Armadillidium depressum ‘High Contrast’ – also Armadillidium depressum ‘HC’ – is a large, bulky and impressive isopod species, slightly over 2 cm long from Northern Italy. It has vivid yellow spots, jet black background and legs. Even the underside is almost totally black! Loved this one. 😍 The common Armadillidium depressum isopods are much smaller and the background color on them is dark gray.

Size: adults reach a length of 25 mm.
Activity: night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate.
Temperature: 15 – 26°C
Humidity: 50 – 70%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves. Rotting white wood should be plenty, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. And 3x times a week provide a source of protein. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
