Cylisticus convexus is a small-size isopod species measuring 12 – 15 mm long, with a body in the shape of a teardrop. It’s a nocturnal and in small numbers it’s a rather secretive isopod and only large populations can be sometimes seen roaming around during the day.
The Ukraine Pied is the pied variety collected in Ukraine after some wild specimens with white pattern were isolated and selectively bred for their white color.

Cylisticus convexus ‘Ukraine Pied’ care
Size: adults reach a length of 12 – 15 mm.
Activity: night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ⅔ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves.
Temperature: 15 – 28°C
Humidity: 50 – 65%; they are adaptable.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves. Rotting white wood should be plenty, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. They prefer less fresh leaves. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
