Cubaris sp. ‘Pak Chong’ is a unique Cubaris isopod from the district Pak Chong in Thailand. It’s a medium size isopod with a grey/blue body, white side and a red face and tail! It’s a moderately easy to keep and breed isopod.

Cubaris sp. ‘Pak Chong’, isopod care

Size: adults may reach a length of 15 mm.
Activity: anytime; mostly night active.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of tree bark or cork bark and also decaying leaves. This Cubaris isopod tends to burrow a lot. Almost all the time however, there are some of them hanging out in the open, day or night. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.
Temperature: 22 – 28°C
Humidity: 55 – 70%.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, lichen, gammarus shrimp, decaying leaves, white rotten wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (calcium triple boost, cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
Difficulty: intermediate.
Reproduction rate: fair to prolific.
Growth rate: normal to slow.
Lifespan: 2 to 3 years for CBB isopods.
