The Armadillidium flavoscutatum ‘Ghost’ is an exclusive, world-first hypomelanistic mutation. Through careful selective breeding, this striking lack of dark pigmentation has been proven out as a completely stable, recessive gene. Because it is a highly specialized mutation, the ‘Ghost’ reproduces at a slightly slower pace than the wild-type A. flavoscutatum. This naturally slower breeding rate ensures that the market will not become flooded, preserving the extreme rarity and premium value of this remarkable line for high-end breeding projects.

Size: adults may reach a length of 10 – 12 mm.
Activity: day; night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of tree bark or cork bark and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.
Temperature: 17 – 26°C
Humidity: 60 – 75%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, lichen, gammarus shrimp, decaying leaves, white rotten wood, mushrooms, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (calcium triple boost, cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
