Laureola sp. ‘Durian Spiky’ is a dwarf and colorful tropical isopod from Vietnam. It has that unique spiky appearance that really stands out! Laureola sp. ‘Durian Spiky’ is a new tropical isopod in the hobby (appeared spring 2024). Firstly with the general: Isopoda sp. ‘Durian Spiky’. There are captive bred isopods already from this beauty and thus they are now easy to breed in captivity.

Size: adults may reach a length of 8 – 10 mm; it’s one of te largest Laureola sp.
Activity: mostly night active.
Terrarium: keep ⅔ moist with forest moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.
Temperature: 24 – 28°C
Humidity: 50 – 80%; they prefer high humidity, yet they are adaptable.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, lichen, decaying leaves, rotting white wood. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week.
