Isopoda World List

Porcellio succinctus ‘Black Ribs’ isopods have a white skirt, emphasizing as such their black ribs. Porcellio succinctus ‘Black Ribs’ is another spanish giant. It may not be the largest, like the Porcellio hoffmannseggii and Porcellio magnificus, but their extremely long antennae and uropods, make the Porcellio succinctus ‘Black Ribs’ a large and impressive isopod. The young isopods are almost entirely white, with only a few black dots on their back.

Porcellio succinctus isopods do not forgive mistakes, they need only one corner to remain moist in their isopodarium; they are secretive and they will suffer โ€“ and eventually die โ€“ from too much heat in the Summer.
