Armadillidium frontetriangulum ‘Orange’ is a really beautiful isopod from Corfu, Greece, with a vibrant orange color and white and yellow dots. It’s so much different compared to the common (dark brown) form. Both its common name (Triangled-faced Pill Woodlouse) and the species epithet frontetriangulum describe exactly the shape of the head of this isopod. Fronte (Latin) means forehead and triangulum (Latin) its triangular shape. In fact, when you observe it up front it almost looks like a mantis head! Armadillidium frontetriangulum ‘Orange’ isopods are easy to breed and they are prolific.
ℹ️ Sidenote: this species belongs to the Armadillidiidae family which differs from the Armadillidae family.

Size: adults may reach a length of 15 mm.
Activity: night; early morning

Humidity: 50 – 60%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, gammarus shrimp, forest moss, lichen, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles.
