Caribodillo martinicensis is the new taxon name for what was known as Cubaris sp. ‘Salmon’. It’s a medium-large isopod from the island of Martinique. Their color ranges from deep salmon to light orange. The older the isopod the darker the color. These salmon-color beauties are easy to keep and breed, and therefore suitable for beginners.
ℹ️The new monotypic genus Caribodillo contains only a single species, the one listed in this page: Caribodillo martinicensis. It was formerly know as Cubaris sp. ‘Salmon’ but recent research (November 2025) placed it in this genus. Caribodillo martinicensis is endemic to the island of Martinique. Source of publication.

Size: adults may reach a length of 16 mm.
Activity: anytime; mostly night active.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.
Temperature: 22 – 28°C
Humidity: 60 – 80%.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, lichen, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (calcium triple boost, cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
