Cubaris murina ‘Pearls’ is a color morph isolated from Cubaris murina ‘Anemone’. Its body is translucent-white to translucent-peach color giving it a frosty appearance. And it has random orange spots. Cubaris murina ‘Pearls’ has the same characteristics and care as the rest of Cubaris murina isopods. Cubaris murina ‘Pearls’ was originally appeared in the USA, but later the same color morph appeared in European cultures as well. These are hardy and adaptable isopods, but rather shy. With large numbers however they tend to be active both day and night.

Cubaris murina ‘Pearls’, isopod care
Size: adults may reach a length of 22 mm.
Activity: anytime; mostly night active.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with forest moss, pieces of tree bark or cork bark and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.
Temperature: 22 – 28°C.
Humidity: 60 – 80%.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, lichen, gammarus shrimp, decaying leaves, white rotten wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (calcium triple boost, cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
Difficulty: moderate to easy.
Reproduction rate: these are prolific and easy to keep isopods. Their only downside is that they grow slower than other isopods.
Growth rate: normal to slow.
