Armadillo officinalis ‘Israel’ is the variety from Israel with a different pattern compared to the European Armadillo officinalis isopods. It’s a beautiful isopod with a silvery pattern and a series of orange spots on its back. Armadillo officinalis ‘Israel’ isopods are easy to keep and breed. When they are scared they conglobate to a perfect ball!

Size: adults may reach a length of 20 mm.
Activity: night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ⅔ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate.
Temperature: 15 – 28°C
Humidity: 55 – 70%; they are adaptable.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, lichen, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
