Armadillidium maculatum ‘Yellow’ is the common zebra isopod (Armadillidium maculatum) but with yellow stripes, instead of white. This is an isopod that has many advantages: it is a beautiful and impressive isopod, it is very easy to keep, it is prolific and also it produces many mancae with each brood. The only thing you need to pay attention to is that they like it a bit more moist than the average Armadillidium standard.

Size: adults may reach a length of 18 nm.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of tree bark or cork bark and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.

Humidity: 60 – 75%
Activity: day; night; early morning
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, moss, lichen, gammarus shrimp, decaying leaves, white rotten wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods.
