Porcellio scaber with the Calico pattern. Only females exhibit the calico phenotype. Males carry the recessive gene (masked) and have an ostensibly normal – for the species – color.

Size: adults reach a length of 18 mm.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with sphagnum moss and pieces of rotting white wood underneath.
Temperature: 17 – 26°C
Humidity: 50 – 60%
Activity: day; early morning; nighttime.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves. Rotting white wood should be plenty, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. They prefer less fresh leaves. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
