Porcellio laevis albino is a stable strain with albino isopods and therefore without any pigment, and also with white eyes! Their color varied from white/cream to yellow/white to yellow, according to the molting phase.

Porcellio laevis albino, isopod care

Size: adults may reach a length of 23 mm.
Activity: day; night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ½ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Porcellio laevis isopods thrive in higher humidity, yet they are somewhat drought tolerant. It’s a social Porcellio species that when established, breeds well. Check out also our premium substrate.
Temperature: 17 – 26°C
Humidity: 55 – 75%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, mushrooms, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. And 2x times a week provide a source of protein. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
Difficulty: easy
Reproduction rate: extremely prolific with large broods; reproduction age starts early.
Growth rate: slow. Compared to other Porcellio laevis isopods, such as Porcellio laevis ‘White Caramel’, these albino isopods grow 3 to 5 times slower.
