Description > FAQ
Isopods thrive in calcareous environments. This limestone cut is thus what the isopods need to thrive in the isopodarium. We prefer this limestone rock because it is relatively soft and it can be cut further into smaller pieces, with a chisel and a hammer. Plus, the isopods can easily nibble at, when they need to.
Cubaris isopods especially (such as Cubaris sp. Rubber Ducky) live in areas where the limestone is abundant in their natural habitat. Cubaris isopods as such require lime to maintain a healthy, viable colony and to reproduce often.
Ideal for isopods, millipedes, pill millipedes, centipedes, hermit crabs, roaches and other tropical arthropods and invertebrates.
FAQ
Do I place it above or under the substrate? Because I have some Cubaris isopods that like to dig into the soil.
You place it above the substrate. When they want they go to nibble. And that is for all isopods (and other arthropods).
Do I have to crush it?
You don’t have to crush the limestone rock. You place it in one corner as it is. Preferably on the dry part of the enclosure.
How large are the pieces in cm?
There are various sizes. Contact us to find for you what size suits you best.
Is it a replacement for cuttlefish bone?
