Eluma caelata is a small forest dwelling isopod with an elongated fluffy exoskeleton. It is a hardy isopod in captivity and it will forgive many mistakes by a beginner isopod enthusiast.
Origin: Northwestern Africa, Western Europe, Great Britain, Ireland and the Iberian Peninsula. It is now also found in other parts of the world, including the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira, French Guiana, Australia, New Zealand (in Nelson on the South Island) and Tasmania.

Size: adults may reach a length of 9 – 10 mm.
Activity: night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves.
Temperature: 15 – 28°C
Humidity: 50 – 65%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves. Rotting white wood should be plenty, molting of invertebrates and reptiles.
