Cubaris sp. ‘Panda King’ is a beautiful small-size Cubaris isopod that is suitable for beginners. This morph developed in Vietnam and it was given this name for obvious reasons. It has though a moderate prolificacy, and it will take some time to establish a large colony.
Cubaris sp. ‘Panda King’, isopod care
Size: adults may reach a length of 22 mm.
Activity: anytime; mostly night active.
Terrarium: keep ½ moist with forest moss, pieces of tree bark or cork bark and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate and ultra premium substrate.
Temperature: 22 – 28°C
Humidity: 60 – 80%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, lichen, gammarus shrimp, decaying leaves, white rotten wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. They will enjoy a slightly higher protein-based diet, at least 2x times a week. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (calcium triple boost, cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
Difficulty: easy to moderate.
Reproduction rate: prolific when colony is established.
Growth rate: normal to slow.
