This Armadillidium species from Lefkada island remains to be identified. Perhaps it’s a new species. We hope someone finds out in the future. It’s a medium to large Armadillidium isopod, with adults reaching a length of 20 mm approximately. The color of the isopods that I have are ranging from apricot-peach, to peach color with darker accents, often shining like a gummy. 😀 And of course the pied individual with the white pied bands on its body. The young isopods are much more white and they often have a transparent back! Isopods from my colony carry certainly the gene for piebaldism, so perhaps it appears in the offspring of your own colony! 😀 The minus of this Armadillidium species is that the offspring grow much slower, compared to most Armadillidium isopods. They are prolific however, with females producing large broods and frequently.

Activity: day; night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate.
Temperature: 17 – 26°C
Humidity: 60 – 75%
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, forest moss, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. And 2x times a week provide a source of protein. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
