Common name: Jerrentrup’s Pill Woodlouse.
Armadillidium jerrentrupi is yet another beautiful isopod from Greece. It has bright orange rings on a brown to dark brown body. It’s a medium to large size isopod that probably belongs to the “Armadillidium fossuligerum complex”. Armadillidium jerrentrupi is an easy to take care of isopod, and it will not take too long before it produces its offspring. However, the offspring grow slowly. As large juveniles to subadults though they grow faster.

Size: adults may reach a length of 18 mm.
Activity: day; early morning; nighttime.
Terrarium: keep ⅓ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood and also decaying leaves. Check out also our premium substrate.
Temperature: 17 – 28°C
Humidity: 60 – 70%.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves, forest moss, lichen, rotting white wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. And 2x times a week provide a source of protein. Be sure to check out our Protein mix foods. Also don’t forget a calcium source (cuttlefish bone, limestone & oyster seashell, limestone rock) to keep them healthy.
Difficulty: easy
Reproduction rate: fair; they need some months to establish a stable breeding colony, but when established, they are stable.
Growth rate: slow.
