FAQ

How come these are larger than the common gestroi?

This is the giant form of Armadillidium gestroi and they are a natural variety.

How can I be sure I am getting the giant variety and not the standard one?

We are glad to be offering the giant variety of the Armadillidium gestroi isopod as well, and we want to make our buyers happy. We are absolutely strict and serious about this.

Why should I choose the giant variety over the standard-size one?

The giant form is more impressive, yet slightly more challenging to keep and breed, than the normal-size form. And also, the offspring of the giant variety grow slightly slower. Finally, it’s up to you to choose, and you can have both varieties, in separate containers, with mesh covering the openings to prevent isopods from one container move to the other.
