This natural and unprocessed cork bark comes directly from cork oak trees (Quercus suber) that are 30 years old. Therefore it is lightweight, rough, irregular and resistant to mold. What’s is interesting is that isopods, millipedes and roaches are also eating this!

1) Ideal as a natural hide.
2) It helps so that the humidity levels remain stable.
3) Resistant to mold.
4) It is cleaner than tree bark, without bugs and mites.
5) Adds vertical space, which is critical in an overpopulated enclosure. Also allowing other animals such as lizards (geckos, Varanus lizards etc.) and snakes to climb.
6) Lightweight, does not add weight on an already heavy glass terrarium, vivarium, paludarium etc.
7) Ideal for many different animals, such as invertebrates (isopods, millipedes, roaches), tarantulas and scorpions, gastropods (land snails), beetles and also for reptiles.

FAQ

Cork bark instead of egg flats?

Question: Which is better, cork bark or egg flats?
Answer: Cork bark comes from a species of oak tree, therefore the animals mentioned above (except reptiles), like to eat it as well. Egg flats offer nothing to them, except a shelter to go under and hide. Plus, egg flats tend to mold often and then they are not usable, they become like a paper pulp. I would use egg flats along with cork bark though, if deemed necessary. But not solely egg flats.
