Not ready to try our air vents yet? Something more economical and affordable is the standalone version: just the ultra fine mesh. One A4 sheet costs €0,50. This ultra fine mesh is ideal for isopods, millipedes, some roach species, mantis, tarantulas, jumping spiders, small lizards, dart frogs and for all insects (ie: crickets, grasshoppers, and also for laboratorium insects such as culturing of fruit flies etc.).
It’s an extremely fine mesh so that the smallest of nymphs / mancae / babies cannot crawl outside and also no insect pests such as fruit flies and mites to get in.

✔ Prevents your adult insects and their babies from crawling out
✔ Doesn’t let in insect pests such as fungus gnats, fruit flies, mites, ants and other insects that could threaten your pets and the entire colony.

Not suitable to use on containers with roaches that chew about anything, such as Lucihormetica spp, Elliptorhina spp., Gromphadorhina spp., Simandoa conserfariam etc. On my Gyna lurida ‘Yellow’, Corydidarum magnifica, Eucorydia yasumatsui I use it without any problems. Eublaberus spp cannot climb vertically on plastic, so if the ventilation openings are high in the terrarium, or on the lid, again this mesh can be used without any issues. I am using it on my Eublaberus distanti ‘Ivory’ and Eublaberus marajoara.
