Porcellio nicklesi ‘Rubivan’ is a stunning spanish isopod, with a white body and black specks. Males have longer uropods than females and at full adulthood are easily sexed. This species is naturally found in caves of Spain.

Size: adults may reach a length of 20 mm. Including the uropods they may reach an impressive length of 30 mm.
Activity: night; early morning.
Terrarium: keep only ⅕ moist with moss, pieces of rotting white wood, and aksi covering with decaying leaves. Porcellio nicklesi ‘Rubivan’ isopods require a much drier setup, good air flow and adequate ventilation.
Temperature: 18 – 28°C
Humidity: 45 – 55%; they can’t tolerate high humidity.
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. And 2x times a week provide a source of protein. Difficulty: challenging.
