Isopoda World List

Porcellio bolivari ‘Yellow Ghost’ is a large size isopod and an all time favorite isopod of mine. Spanish porcellios are not the most easy isopods to keep, they require constant attention, because if it is too wet they will die. And if it becomes too dry in the bin, they will die again. Armadillidium isopods – for example – require a much more moist setup, but they will not die if they left a bit dry. Something that is not the case with the spanish porcellios, unfortunately. The Porcellio bolivari ‘Yellow Ghost’ morph was developed for the darker beige color on their back. The common Porcellio bolivari isopods have a light sand color instead.
