Gyna lurida ‘Yellow’ roaches for sale

Gyna lurida ‘Yellow’, cockroach information
Origin: Tanzania.
Scientific name: Gyna lurida
Variety name: Yellow
Basionym: N/A
Synonyms: N/A
Family: Blaberidae
Common name: Yellow Porcelain Cockroach.
Gyna lurida ‘Yellow’ is one of the stunners in the pet roach hobby! My breeding group comes from a high quality strain, where – as you can see in the photos – the nymphs are yellow as well! I have seen a youtube video where the nymphs are white. Thus this is a stable strain and all of the offspring will express the yellow phenotype, ranging from light yellow to ochre.
Fun fact: In higher temperatures the yellow color lightens! π

Gyna lurida ‘Yellow’, cockroach care
Size: up to 30 mm.
Activity: mostly night active; though itβs a very active species.
Terrarium: keep β
moist with a little moss. The substrate can be a mixture of peat (without fertilizer) mixed with crushed rotting leaves and a little sand. Make it at least 5 cm deep so that they can bury in it when they need to. Be sure to also check out our premium substrate. They also need hiding spots to go under and hide themselves during the day. These can be carton egg cases, cork bark, or hard bark from other trees.
β οΈ Their terrarium needs to be escape-proof, so that the roaches cannot squeeze through the lid and escape.
Temperature: 19 to 25Β°C
Humidity: 50% β 60%
Diet: omnivorous; fruits, greens & vegetables, fish flakes, rotting leaves / white wood, silkworm pupae, red mosquito larvae, cat / dog kibble.
Can climb?: mostly adults can climb smooth surfaces, nymphs only when there is dirt on the walls of the enclosure, they can hold on to that.
Can fly?: both sexes develop wings and they can fly.
Burrowing?: nymphs mainly do bury into the soil and leaves, and sometimes also adults.
Growth rate: Growth rate depending on temperature and diet. Generally speaking they donβt grow extremely slow like other roach species.
Lifespan: About 2 – 3 months for males and 2 – 3 years for females. Lifespan has also to do with the temperature, so if it is a bit cold, they live a bit longer.
