Flake soil substrate for beetles, millipedes, isopods etc.

Description > FAQ
Flake soil is a fermented and composted feeding substrate that is suitable for various arthropods, such as beetle larvae, millipedes, isopods and other invertebrates. As a fermented product it is continuously in the process of “reacting” with its environment. Therefore, when it is about to be used, it should be mixed with the main substrate and other materials (leaf litter) to keep it from molding. After it is mixed you water it and it is better placed in the moist part of the terrarium / isopodarium. For the reasons mentioned above – and when flake soil is not used in the terrarium – it should be stored in a container with sufficient ventilation. When there’s not enough ventilation, you will see the flake soil “sweating”, ie: droplets will start forming and if the flake soil is left like that for too long, it will get darker and then mold starts developing. Beetle larvae, millipedes and isopods are loving it, and it helps them in creating a thriving colony. For us isopod and millipede keepers, after using it, you will see difficult to breed Cubaris, and/or Ardentiella and other isopods, producing litters of mancae in a shorter period of time, compared to when flake soil was not present for them. Especially for tropical millipedes is a must! Except boosting millipedes and isopod colonies, you will see springtail colonies rapidly increasing in numbers as well. All of them just love it! 🥰

FAQ
Do I have to use it immediately or it will go bad?
No, you can use it whenever you want. Just pay attention and if you see it “sweating” open the bag to let air in.
