Eucorydia aenea subsp. dasytoides, cockroach care

Size: adults may reach a length of 18 mm.
Terrarium: keep only one corner moist with moss and decaying leaves. The substrate can be a mixture of peat (without fertilizer) mixed with decaying leaves, some coconut coir and a little sand. Make it at least 5 cm deep so that they can bury it when they need to, although it’s not absolutely necessary. They also need hiding spots to go under and hide themselves during the day. These can be carton egg cases, cork bark, or hard bark from other trees.
Temperature: 22 – 29°C
Humidity: 50 – 70%
Activity: night; early morning.
Diet: fruit, greens & vegetables, fish-flakes, decaying leaves, white rotting wood. They may also eat bat guano, and they enjoy the weekly insect jelly.
Can climb?: only adults can climb smooth surfaces.
Can fly?: they could rarely fly a little bit, or glide.
Difficulty: moderate
Growth rate: Growth rate depending on temperature and diet. They may take 5 months to one year to mature. Both sexes develop wings.
Reproduction rate: may take 6 months or so, to start reproducing.
Lifespan: About 2 months for males and 2 years for females. Lifespan has also to do with the temperature, so if it is a bit cold, they live a bit longer.
