Porcellio laevis ‘White’ is an isopod species that is mainly active during the day (diurnal). Its round shape makes it easy to distinguish from other elongated isopods. It’s on the larger scale size and an easy isopod to keep and breed. Their appetite is truly without boundaries, they will eat anything and they will wash the plate clean in no time! They are hardy and adaptable but rather quick when exposed. White is the whiter morph of the Porcellio laevis isopod.

Terrarium: keep ½ moist with sphagnum moss and a piece of rotting white wood underneath. Porcellio laevis isopods thrive in higher humidity.

Activity: daytime; early morning
Diet: fruits, veggies, greens, fish-food, decaying leaves, rotting white wood, mushrooms, molting of invertebrates and reptiles. This large and highly active isopod species requires protein as well, at least 2x each week. In larger well established colonies you may offer pinky mice and small fish, they will eat them whole and will leave nothing the next day.
