Merulanella spp. → Ardentiella spp.
Benedikt Kästle and Omar Rafael Regalado Fernández just published a paper (March 18, 2025) where they reassessed the genus Merulanella. Following this, all Merulanella species in the pet trade now belong to the new genus Ardentiella, with Ardentiella bicolorata (formerly Merulanella bicolorata) being the type species of the new genus.
Furthermore, Merulanella gibbera and Merulanella latissima are now contained in the genus Floresiodillo, and Merulanella peltata is now in the genus Acutodillo.
Cubaris caerulea is also moved to the genus Ardentiella.
