Cyanotis somaliensis variegata is the variegated variety of the common Cyanotis somaliensis plant. The common name of this plant is Variegated Kitten Ears, or Variegated Pussy Ears, for its hairy leaves and their shape resembling kitten ears. Even though Cyanotis somaliensis variegata belongs to the Commelinaceae family of plants, it’s a type of a succulent. Compared to the common Cyanotis somaliensis plant, the variegated variety grows much slower and it can easily revert and lose its variegation if kept in low light. Therefore a location with a very bright light and also sunlight is required. It can also rot from overwatering, just like other succulent plants.
